Wachovia Center

Wachovia Bank engaged Taylor & Mathis as the development manager for its 20-story corporate headquarters tower in downtown Winston-Salem, NC.  Completed in 1996, the project encompassed 535,000 SF of office space, a 220-car underground parking garage, a 760-car remote parking deck (connected to the building via a tunnel running beneath an adjacent city park) and a 400-seat full-service cafeteria.  Shortly thereafter, Taylor & Mathis developed an eight-story operations center for the bank on an adjacent site.  Completed in 2000, the second building contained 208,500 SF and featured a five-story interior atrium.
