Atlanta, GA December 20, 2013 – Taylor & Mathis, Inc., the exclusive leasing agent for Executive Park, has negotiated a lease between Government Properties Income Trust, LLC, the landlord, and Emory University, who will occupy 100% of 12 Executive Park, a 5-story Class A office building containing 125,788 square feet. The building, which was vacated by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) in 2012, will house Emory Healthcare’s new “Brain Center” and its Psychiatry group, as well as various components of the University’s continuing education programs. Emory was represented by David Demarest and Brannan Moss of Jones Lang LaSalle, and Kerry O’Brien, Senior Vice President – Marketing for Taylor & Mathis, represented the landlord. The deal represents a significant expansion of Emory’s presence at Executive Park; various units of Emory Healthcare already occupy approximately 167,000 square feet in two other buildings in the park.
Executive Park is a 70-acre office park with approximately 590,000 square feet of existing office space. The project is owned by CommonWealth REIT, a Boston-based real estate investment trust, and various affiliated companies. CommonWealth owns approximately 64 million square feet of office and industrial properties in 31 states, with a value of over $6.4 billion.
